Settling In- People have been moving around and trying various Mass times and locations. It’s made the greeting time before Mass very lively. We’ll see what changes come about with the upcoming football season and Saturday games. Summer vacations are ended. School is back in session. Some Masses may be fuller, but the earliest and latest Masses easily have room. Consider coming to these as well.
Are There People Sick Among You?- These words are from the prayers for Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. When serious illnesses occur in your family, especially life threatening ones, please consider calling the parish offices. We want people to have the support of the sacraments and spiritual care. Our spiritual needs arise in these difficult experiences. Be an advocate for those who are sick and help us accompany them. Call the parish office and allow us to help.
Parish Leadership- This happens at both the Parish level with Parish Council and Finance Council, as well as at the pastorate level with Pastoral Commission and Finance Commission. I’m in the process of appointing people to these important leadership roles. All who are appointed will serve a one year term. None of these groups have met yet as the various groups are still being filled out. I’ve been talking with many people in this process, starting with people who served last year and indicated a desire to help out in this transition year. Thanks for being generous. I’ll be communicating those appointed to these various roles as they are filled. Contact the parish office if you are interested with your contact information, as well as your past experience to help in these roles. The greatest needs are in the parish level councils. Thanks very much!

Let Him form you so He can shape us.
Once God leads us out of what is familiar, He begins to form us for what comes next. He shapes us through surrender—inviting us to let go of our need to control and our attachment to what was. Formation asks us to trust God enough to allow Him to change who we are becoming.
Surrender doesn't mean giving up. It means releasing our grip and making space for God to work. The discomfort and uncertainty we are experiencing are not obstacles, but the very places where God is forming us.
What are you still trying to control? What are you being invited to surrender? Who is God forming you to become? Take these questions to prayer. Ask God what He is asking you to release and who He is inviting you to become. Let Him form you so He can shape us.

Join us for a special gathering for volunteers who help provide snack bags for the Willis Dady Shelter, and for anyone interested in learning more about homelessness in our community. New volunteers are always welcome!
We'll meet Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 PM in Seton Hall for a light dinner, an update from Willis Dady, a visit from the Catholic Worker House director, and a powerful message from Fr. Greg Boyle. Come learn about the impact we're making in the homeless community.
Everyone is invited, but please RSVP in advance so we can get an accurate food count.
