Journey in Faith: Rectories and Living Spaces
The priests assigned to each pastorate have been meeting to determine what living arrangements will look like within the pastorate. The priests have visited rectories and office spaces and are currently making final decisions on where each priest will live within a pastorate. In many cases, priests will be living at a parish without weekend Mass. Depending on the pastorate, priest preference, and available space, some priests will live together in community and some will live alone. Regardless of the living situation, priests within a pastorate will be regularly praying, meeting, and sharing meals together.

Liturgical Ministry after July 14
As part of the preparation for pastorate life in July 2026, our parish staff has been meeting weekly to participate in a "prep series" presented by the archdiocese. Each week the prep series focuses on a specific topic. A recent topic was Planning for July Masses. Our parish, along with those in our new pastorate, will begin collectively planning to celebrate Liturgy together in the named weekend Mass locations. We will be planning for liturgical ministers, music, hospitality, and more. Part of that planning will be inviting all liturgical ministers from all parishes to continue their ministry. In the month of June, liturgical ministers will receive information on their specific ministry.

St. Vincent de Paul will have their Thrift Store truck at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on June 13, 2 hours before the 5:30 Mass until Mass starts.

I had the joy last week of updating photos that were submitted a while back as updates for the Parish Directory. We released our first electronic version of the Parish Directory two years ago and seeing the pictures of little babies who are now two years old was so fun!
We'll be releasing an updated Parish Directory electronic file in June. If you still haven't submitted a photo and want to, this is your last call before that release!

There are many activities for all age groups; Country Store, Silent Auction, BINGO, Carnival Rides, Kids Games, Food, Hog Roast, 5k & Kids Fun Run, Paddle Wheel and fantastic musical talent all weekend long in the Beverage Tent. Raffle tickets are available for $10 each with a chance to win $20,000! There are also many volunteer opportunities available if you are willing to help out!

KMMK 88.7 FM Talk Radio for Catholic Living will host their 8th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5-8:30 pm at Cedar Ridge Winery, 1441 Marak Road, Swisher, Iowa. Our featured speaker is Camille Pauley, Co-founder with Fr. Robert Spitzer of Healing the Culture. Camille will speak on “Healing the Culture: Restoring Truth and Hope in a Broken World.” The dinner is free but reservations are needed. Divine Mercy Gifts is happy to host the Third Annual Two Hearts Art Festival and Market on Saturday, June 13, 2026, which is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, from 9:00am-2:00pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids in the southwest parking lot (at the corner of 1st Avenue and Ellis Blvd NW).
